🏡 Helping Newcomers Thrive: A New Social Club for Rochester Residents

Moving to a new city is exciting — but it can also be overwhelming. Finding community, building new friendships, and restarting or reimagining your career can take time. That’s why I started Trailing Talent, a social club designed specifically for spouses and partners of those who have relocated to Rochester, MN for work.

This group was born out of a simple idea: no one should feel like they’re starting over alone.

As someone who moved to Rochester for their spouse's job 20 years ago, I understand both the excitement and challenges of starting fresh in a new place. I’ve met so many incredible people who came here because of job opportunities at Mayo Clinic or other local employers. While their partners were busy settling into new roles, many were left asking: “Now what?”

Trailing Talent is here to answer that.

Our club creates a welcoming space for newcomers to:

• 🧘‍♀️ Join interest-based groups like hiking, book clubs, crafting, or volunteering
• 🧠 Attend monthly meetups with guest speakers on topics like personal finance, small business, social media, and more

Monthly events are casual, friendly, and open to all. You can even just come for lunch and good conversation. We’re here when you're ready.
